Located close to the inn is the Old Faithful Lodge and Cabins ($69-115), which offers
much simpler and rustic lodging. If you are looking for budget-friendly accommodations
that put you in the center of the park activity, this is a good option. The cabins are small
motel-style units that vary in condition. These are probably very similar to the cabins vis-
itors stayed in during the early part of the 20th century; the walls are thin and amenities
sparse. The lower-priced cabins do not come with baths, but there are communal showers
nearby. The cabins are scattered around a main log cabin-style lodge. Built in the 1920s, the
main lodge has a large cafeteria, a bakery, and a fully stocked gift shop, making it popular
with park visitors throughout the day.
The Old Faithful Snow Lodge and Cabins ($229-239 lodge rooms, $150 Western cab-
in, $99 Frontier cabin) are the newest accommodations in the park. The original lodge was
torn down and a new structure was built in 1999. Its architecture is intended to mirror the
Old Faithful Inn, and the lodge won a Cody Award for Western Design. It offers comfort-
able, modern rooms decorated with Western flair. They also have a few motel-style cabins,
built in 1989. The Western cabins are a good value for the money; they are large rooms with
