The road to Cooke City stays open all year.

Annual Hog Roast
happens in mid-March and attracts a throng of hungry snow-
mobilers, backcountry skiers, and more recently, a healthy number of cross-country skiers
to Cooke City. The event includes an auction, dinner, and live music.
The popular
Firemen's Picnic
is held annually on July 4, just east of town, with fire-
works after dark.
