Golf
There are three private golf courses in and around Bozeman (Valley View Golf Club,
Riverside Country Club, and Black Bull Run Golf Club), and two that are open to the
public. The 18-hole Bridger Creek Golf Course (2710 McIlhattan Rd., 406/586-2333,
www.bridgercreek.com , weekdays $19 for 9 holes and $31 for 18 holes, weekends and hol-
idays $21 for 9 holes and $33 for 18 holes) offers 6,511 yards of golf from the longest
tees for a par of 71. Special family nights are ideal for little ones just picking up the game,
and novice nights provide a non-stressful atmosphere for new players. Their camp offerings
for kids and group and private lessons for anyone are highly rated. Plus Cottonwood Hills
Golf Course (8955 River Rd., 406/587-1118, www.cottonwoodhills.com ) offers a 9-hole,
1,181-yard, par-3 course ($10 adults, $7 children) as well as an 18-hole, 6,751-yard course
with a par of 70 ($20-22 for 9 holes, $36-40 for 18 holes).
Fitness and Yoga
Not too far from downtown, The Club on Rouse (708 N. Rouse St., 406/587-8866) offers
guest passes ($12 day, $80 for 10 days), which entitle users to all of the facilities and any of
the club's impressive list of classes, which include yoga, Pilates, and cycling. For $10, vis-
itors can have full access to the gym at Main Street Fitness (7 W. Main St., 406/556-2200,
www.mainstreetfitness.net ) and its range of classes including kickboxing, ski conditioning,
and yoga. The largest gym in the area—which has a pool, racquetball and basketball courts,
and a fantastic kid's drop-off playroom—is The Ridge (4181 Fallon Ave., 406/586-1737,
www.ridgeathletic.com , $20 day pass), an impressive facility with every class you can ima-
gine and numerous trainers on the floor at all times.
Sweat-inducing Bikram yoga can be found at Bikram Yoga Bozeman (705 E. Mend-
enhall St., 406/522-7008, www.bendbeyondyoga.com ). Drop-ins are welcome for $15, and
10-class cards are available for $120. Discounts are available for seniors, students, and
veterans. Mats and towels can be rented for $2 each. Worth noting is the meditation
garden behind the studio. Pure Barre Bozeman (34 E. Mendenhall St., 406/557-2918,
www.purebarre.com ) is an hour-long, full-body workout that uses a ballet bar and small re-
petitive movements with upbeat music and encouraging instructors. Drop-in classes are $19
or $85 for five classes.
