GETTING THERE
Just 14 miles south of Whitefish, Kalispell is the larger of the two cities and has commercial
flights and bus service, while Whitefish has daily train service. Both cities have taxi ser-
vices.
The Glacier Park International Airport (FCA, 4170 U.S. 2 E., Kalispell,
www.iflyglacier.com ) is served by Delta/SkyWest, Alaska/Horizon, United, and Allegiant.
There are on-site car-rental counters for Avis, Budget, Hertz, and National/Alamo; Dollar,
Enterprise, and Thrifty are off-site but near the airport.
Greyhound (1301 S. Main St., Kalispell, 406/755-4011, www.greyhound.com ) offers
daily bus service in and out of Kalispell.
Amtrak (500 Depot St., Whitefish, 800/872-7245, www.amtrak.com ) runs the Empire
Builder from Chicago to Seattle with daily stops in Whitefish in each direction.
Kalispell and Whitefish are easily accessible by car: Kalispell is 115 miles north of Mis-
soula at the junction of U.S. Highway 2 and U.S. Highway 93; Whitefish is just 14 miles
farther north on U.S. Highway 93.
GETTING AROUND
Eagle Transit ( http://flathead.mt.gov/eagle , 7am-7pm Mon.-Fri., $1) operates the buses in
Kalispell, and there are two companies that provide taxi service: Jim's Taxi Service (406/
890-8920, www.jimstaxiservice.com , 24-7) covers all of Flathead County from Flathead
Lake to Whitefish Mountain, Glacier National Park, and everything in between; Drive 4 U
(406/730-7879) offers taxi service in both Kalispell and Whitefish.
