The U.S. Forest Service (200 E. Broadway, 406/329-3511) and the Montana Depart-
ment of Fish, Wildlife and Parks (3201 Spurgin Rd., 406/542-5500) offices offer good
information about hiking, camping, and fishing in the national forests.
The main post office is at 1100 West Kent Avenue, and the downtown location is
at 200 East Broadway. The Missoula Public Library (301 E. Main St., 406/721-2665,
www.missoulapubliclibrary.org , 10am-9pm Mon.-Wed., 10am-6pm Thurs.-Sat., 1pm-5pm
Sun.) is open daily.
The main hospitals are St. Patrick's (500 W. Broadway, 406/543-7271) and Commu-
nity Medical Center (2827 Fort Missoula Rd., 406/728-4100), both of which have 24-hour
emergency rooms.
The Super Wash laundry (1700 S. 3rd St. W., 406/728-9845, 9am-3pm Mon.-Tues. and
Thurs.-Fri., 9am-2pm Sat.-Sun.) is open every day but Wednesday.
GETTING THERE
Located just four miles northwest of the university, Missoula International Airport
(MSO, 5225 U.S. 10 W., 406/728-4381, www.flymissoula.com ) is served by Alaska/Hori-
zon, Allegiant, Delta, and United. Located on the 1st floor of the terminal are the Alamo,
Avis, Budget, Enterprise, and Hertz car-rental agencies. Rent-A-Wreck, Thrifty, and
Dollar have shuttles to and from the airport. Most hotels offer free shuttle service to and
from the airport; the Airport Shuttler (406/543-9416) also provides bus service into town.
The Greyhound bus station (1660 W. Broadway, 406/549-2339, www.greyhound.com )
has several buses in and out of town daily.
I-90 runs directly through Missoula, making it an easy destination by car. Missoula is
115 miles west of Helena and the same south of Kalispell, 120 miles northwest of Butte,
and about 200 miles northwest of Bozeman.
GETTING AROUND
Alamo (2000 W. Broadway, 406/543-0926), Thrifty (3309 W. Broadway, 406/549-2277),
Dollar (1905 W. Broadway, 406/542-2311), and Enterprise (2188 W. Broadway, 406/
721-2484) have car-rental offices downtown.
The Mountain Line (406/721-3333, www.mountainline.com , Mon.-Sat., $1 adults) is
the city bus service. During the summer it offers free shuttles to the farmers market down-
town.
