In-Depth Information
As you enter the town on the Waterton highway, the Visitors Reception Centre
(403/859-5133) is on the right. It is open mid-May-mid-October and can provide you
with plenty of information on the region. During the off-season, the park's operations
building (403/859-2224), located next to the visitors center, provides visitor inform-
ation and assistance.
In the Many Glacier area, rowboats ($18/hour), kayaks ($15/hour), and canoes ($18/
hour) are available to rent at Swiftcurrent Lake, adjacent to the Many Glacier Hotel. The
Glacier Park Boat Company (406/257-2426, www.glacierparkboats.com , $24.25 adults,
$12 children 4-12, free for children under 4) also provides a number of scenic cruises on
Swiftcurrent Lake and Lake Josephine. There are up to seven trips daily during summer,
and cruises can be combined with guided hikes or used as a shuttle for hiking trips. A high-
light for many is seeing the Grinnell Glacier on a cruise across Lake Josephine.
