people attend the breakfast (pancakes with chokecherry syrup, of course) and other fest-

er great small-town fair with an equestrian bent. In addition, there is musical entertainment,
rodeo, AMX auto racing, and a demolition derby.
Fishing
The land, mountains, and rivers around Lewistown make this area an ideal destination for
anglers, hunters, and nature lovers. It's one of the few cities in Montana that offers out-
standing fishing within the city limits at Big Spring Creek, the area's premier water source,
supplying water for the city and a significant trout hatchery. There are also numerous public
and privately stocked ponds and springs. For a guided fishing trip, contact David Stuver
(406/538-5708, dstuver@midrivers.com , $150-275 for 1 angler, includes lunch), a longtime
teacher and guide with access to some of the region's best private waters; or stop by Don's
Sports and Western Store (120 2nd Ave. S., 406/538-9408, 9am-6pm Mon.-Sat.) for some
flies and advice.
