The historic Fort Peck Theatre resembles a Swiss chalet.
The
Fort Peck Theatre
(406/526-9943 or 406/228-9216,

)
was
built as a temporary movie house in 1934 to entertain the huge number of workers building
the dam. Over the years, the structure, designed and built by the Army Corps of Engineers
in the style of a Swiss chalet, has become one of Montana's gems. The incredible craftsman-
ship, right down to the light fixtures, can be appreciated each summer during live theatre
performances produced by the Fort Peck Fine Arts Council.
