Honeymoons & Anniversaries
Let your hotel know when making reserva-
tions that you will be celebrating a special
occasion. Although most have honeymoon-
anniversary packages that you can pur-
chase for extra amenities, such as breakfast
in bed or champagne on arrival, many hotels
like to recognize honeymooners and those
celebrating an anniversary. Some hotels of-
fer a special gift or even a room upgrade if
available. Remember, as much as you want
to have a good time, the hotel also wants to
make this an extra-special trip for the two of
you. What better way to bring back return
guests than to help create a wonderful occa-
sion?
Romantic Sites in the Caribbean
This region boasts enough idyllic sights to ignite a spark in any
romance. Lovers will find these sites especially inspiring:
1. DIAMOND WATERFALLS AND GARDENS, ST. LUCIA
Blooming with tropical splendor, garden trails lead to the Dia-
mond Waterfalls, a cascade that leaves a spray of “diamond”
twinkles in the air. If you stop by on a Sunday, you can also en-
joy a soak in the mineral baths originally built by French King
Louis XVI for use by his troops. See page 283.
2. THE BATHS, VIRGIN GORDA, BVI
This beach is littered with massive granite boulders as smooth
as riverbed stones. They form shadowy caves where you can
swim in water as warm as a bath. See page 157.
3. Y.S. FALLS, JAMAICA
Although the north coast's Dunn's River Falls is far more
heavily visited, these secluded falls offer couples a much qui-
eter paradise. Cascading in steps through tropical forest, the
falls can be climbed with the help of a guide, then swimmers
can enjoy clear waters under a canopy of ferns. See page 235.
