Grid Iron. Found in the channel between St. Kitts
and Nevis, this dive follows an undersea shelf. Look
for angelfish as well as rich aquatic life on this dive.
Monkey Reef. You'll see nurse sharks, stingrays,
and lobster. This dive is approximately 50 feet be-
low the surface off the southeast peninsula.
Nags Head. This advanced dive is found where the
calm Caribbean Sea meets the more rugged waters
of the Atlantic Ocean. The result is a strong current
and rich marine life, including rays, turtles, and
more. This dive averages about 80 feet.
Booby Island. This site is located in the St. Kitts
and Nevis channel “The Narrows” and is for ad-
vanced divers because of the current. Jacks and
snapper are common here.
Sandy Point Bay. Over 50 anchors and marine ar-
tifacts have been spotted at this site nicknamed
“Anchors Away.” On other parts of the dive, large
basket sponges, jacks, and snappers may be seen.
On Nevis, the scuba operator is SCUBA Safaris (

9518, fax 469-9619), located at Oualie Beach. Nevis has many
dive sites of its own, including the following.
Monkey Shoals. Two miles west of the Four Sea-
sons Resort Nevis, this reef starts at 40 feet and of-
fers dives of up to 100 feet. Angelfish, turtles, nurse
sharks, corals, sea fans, and sea whips noted here.
Booby Shoals. This site, located off the coast of St.
Kitts, is between Cow 'n Calf Rocks and Booby Is-
land. Divers find an abundance of marine life here,
including stingray, nurse sharks, and lobster. This
shallow site is up to 30 feet in depth and can be used
by both certified and resort course divers.
The Devil's Caves. Located on the south tip of
Nevis, this 40-foot dive has a series of coral grottos
and underwater lava tubes. Lobsters, needlefish, tur-
tles, and squirrelfish are seen at this site used by
both certified and resort course divers.
