For lovers looking for a full menu of hotel amenities, the Hyatt
Regency Grand Cayman fits the bill. The longtime favorite re-
cently underwent an expansion to offer rooms directly on Seven
Mile Beach and to increase its recreational facilities.

A cross between a country club and an island resort, the hotel
flows from a great main house to grounds dotted with royal
palms and ponds filled with colorful koi. A free-form swimming
pool, with bridges and pool bar, is found here. Blocks of guest
rooms circle this central area; Britannia Villas lie beyond the
guest rooms adjacent to the Britannia golf course. Shuttle ser-
vice is available from the main house to the villas and spa.

A romantic spot for a drink is the Hyatt's Aquas
Pool Bar. It just might look familiar: this is where
Jeanne Tripplehorn's character in the movie The Firm
shows up to surprise Avery (Gene Hackman).

Many guest rooms overlook the Britannia Golf Course, de-
signed by Jack Nicklaus, or the private marina. Standard
rooms, each carpeted and featuring a soft Caribbean color
scheme, include a mini-bar, satellite TV, coffee makers, elec-
tronic room card, direct dial telephones with voice mail, in-room
safe, ironing board, and hairdryer. The property also has 50
one-to-four-bedroom villas and 10 bi-level suites.

The $15 million expansion added 53 beachfront suites on Seven
Mile Beach. These include a separate living room with a dining
area, wet bar, work station (with two phone lines), and other
upgraded amenities. The seaside suites are served by a dedi-
cated concierge. A landscaped pool complex includes bronze sea
turtle sculptures, waterfalls, and three freshwater pools.

Red Sail Sports opened a 2,000-square-foot state-of-the-art
diving center as part of the beach addition. The center serves as
