A few purchases are unique to Bermuda. Many stores sells gold
or silver charms of Bermuda's longtailed tropic birds, which are
often seen in pairs flying near the sea cliffs. Another favorite lo-
cal item is Bermuda's famous black rum, used to make rum
cakes as well as the island's favorite drink: Dark and Stormy.

Entry Requirements: US and Canadian citizens need to
bring a passport, or Green Card, US Naturalization certificate,
or Canadian certificate of citizenship, or birth certificate with a
photo ID. Citizens of other countries need a passport and possi-
bly a visa; check with the Department of Tourism (below).
Getting Around: The best way to get around Bermuda is by
motor scooter. To rent a scooter, you must be over 16 and wear a
helmet (most outfitters will provide this). Contact Wheels

Language: English
Currency: The legal currency is the Bermuda dollar, pegged
equally to the US dollar. US currency is widely accepted
throughout the country.
Electricity: 110 volts; American appliances need no adapters.
