Bermuda has eight courses among its 22 square miles.
Although many consider Bermuda to be one island, the country
is actually formed by about 180 small islands. Seven of these is-
lands are connected by causeways and bridges, and this forms
the landmass referred to as “Bermuda.” The broken shoreline
means a plentitude of beaches, most found on the south side
from Southampton to Tucker's Town.
Festivals
Bermuda special events include the Bermuda Festival of the
Performing Arts, scheduled for February, and numerous golf
tournaments, including the annual February Couples Golf
Tournament at the Port Royal Course (

ularly scheduled throughout the year, a romantic special event
is the Candlelight Walking Tour, filled with tales about Ber-

In early May, International Race Week brings sailors from
throughout North America to the waters off Bermuda; for infor-

racing events are planned throughout the year.
In mid-June, the official celebration of the Queen's Birthday
is a public holiday with a military parade through Hamilton. In
August, lovers can take part in the Sunset Jazz Dinner
Cruise, which departs from Albuoy's Point in Hamilton. The

Fall visitors find that September 3 is Labour Day, a public hol-
iday that includes a march from Union Square in Hamilton to
Bernard Park, where events include local music, games, raffles,
and local foods. Later in the month, the Bermuda Jazz Festi-
