10.2. Simulation Results
Simulated operation of the test plant under the optimum operating conditions noted above
was carried out using the solar radiation data of 1985. The results are shown in table 20. The
effective annual water production is 42,900 m 3 , the annual operating rate of the evaporator is
97.6% (number of evaporator starts and stops = 13), and the specific power consumption is
5.1 kWh/m 3 of product water.
