The spot is easily identified by the huge rock that rises from the shoreline, a favorite place
for photographers or those who want the best seat from which to view an incredible sunset.
A little farther south is Espadilla Beach, the most expansive and accessible one for vis-
itors. The bay is dotted with several small islands, making it a picturesque spot to soak up
the sun or play in the waves.
Biesanz Beach is halfway between Quepos and Manuel Antonio, down the road to-
ward Hotel Parador and is all but hidden to the casual visitor. This small bay is so calm
the waves barely whisper. It's popular with Tico families on Sundays and is a great spot to
watchthematplay.Itcanbefounddownanunmarkedpaththatendsatthebeach,sheltered
by hills looming above it. There are rarely many people there during the week, so it's a
perfect spot for some quiet reflection, a relaxing snorkel, or some hand holding with your
special someone.
In the National Park itself are another three beaches, each with its own unique appeal.
Playa Manuel Antonio extends along the southern shore of the narrow stretch of land
that joins Cathedral Point to the mainland. Its sheltered crescent of white sand is beauti-
ful and serene, embraced by the lush jungle behind it. TripAdvisor rated it the number one
most beautiful beach in all of Central America.
