In-Depth Information
In the meantime Mini Price Store continues to offer an amazing range of items from
their existing, if slightly cramped, premises. “When you try to keep everything organized
it gets complicated,” Emilio admits. They have recently added Panamanian 100% cotton
bedding, Mexican pottery and more kitchenware to their stock. Managing the volume is
something forwhichEmilio credits theMiniPrice Storeteam. “Wehaveagreatteam, great
people, and I thank God — otherwise there would be no way to do it. They work so hard.”
Local hairdresser Monica Mosapor says, “I love that I can find specialty items there.
Emilio, his wife Rosita, and his mom Velma are so friendly and welcoming.”
Artist Kathleen Rioux Toval agrees, “Mini Price Store is the go-to store for anyone
who loves to cook. They always have all of the special ingredients for international dishes.
I also appreciate that the customers can special-order items from San Jose and Mini Price
Store will usually get them within a few days. And, they have free delivery. Great customer
service too!”
Mini Price Store is a family business and Emilio values that. “When I started it I was
alone,” he says. “Now there are two families, cousins and siblings, and my brothers help
me a lot.” He appreciates that families can find something there for everyone. “It's nice be-
cause although we have a small place and sometimes it's busy, I know kids love to come to
our store. I just want everyone to be happy.” The balance of quantity and quality matters to
Emilio and he continues to dream big dreams for the retail outlet that began as a storefront.
“My dream is to see people come to the store and find quality like they only see in the Un-
ited States.”
There's no doubt Emilio will find a way to make his dreams of expansion and import-
ing come true. After all, this is the third year in a row he's won “Best Store.” He's bound to
enjoy continued success with his hard-working family and an entire community cheering
him on.
