some cool Costa Rican history and current facts! Definitely recommend these guys! Pura
Vida to the staff.”
Fabian deeply respects the heritage his grandfather and father have passed onto him.
“My grandfather always taught my dad to appreciate nature. He taught him not to hunt or
hurt animals.” Seeing how the natural ecosystem has slowly been recovering over the last
few years excites Fabian, especially the return of toucans and monkeys to the area around
their office, and a program to reintroduce the Scarlett macaw to Costa Rica. “I guess a lot
has to do with my Grandpa teaching my father how to value and appreciate nature,” he
says.
Sharing that appreciation with others is what invigorates Fabian and his family. He
knows he can't go too long without being out on the water, which makes him naturally en-
thusiastic when it comes to guiding others. “If I don't go on the water after two days my
body starts getting sick!” he laughs.
He loves to see the smiles on people's faces after they have experienced the river for
themselves on one of their tours. “I hope that their hearts are part of the river too, as our
hearts are.” To have won this award for Best River Tour both humbles and excites him.
“We always try to do our best. I'm so thankful that people see it and support us.” He's
well aware there are numerous tour companies in town and so the public vote is significant.
“Competition makes us improve. It's nice that we have kept growing, thanks to our com-
petition and thanks to the people in this town.”
All those visiting the area should seriously consider this magical experience during
their stay. The natural wonder and beauty of the river will become a cherished and lifelong
memory.
