third second-level table
third-level table
Let us denote by V1, V2, V3 and V4, the expres-
sions “third approach to identification = Baroque”,
“third approach to identification = Rococo”, “third
approach to identification = Classic”, “third ap-
proach to identification = none of these”. The com-
binations of the H and I, give rise to Table 6.
For instance, the first and the last of the 12
second-level production rules corresponding to
Table 6 are.
As said above, {S1,...,S4}, {T1,…,T4} and
{V1,…,V4}, were three sets of literals that were
called “first, second and third approaches” to the
identification of a style. By combining them into
Table 7, the user obtains the final identification,
expressed by the letters Z1 (final identification =
Baroque), Z2 (final identification = Rococo), Z3
(final identification = Classic), Z4 (final identifica-
tion = none of these).
For instance, two examples, among 48 third-
level production rules corresponding to Table 7
are.
H1 ^ I1 → V1
H3 ^ I4 → V4
which, respectively, mean
S1 ^ T1 ^ V1 → Z1
S3 ^ T3 ^ V1 → Z4
“IF Baroque structure = yes AND Baroque
composition = yes
THEN third approach to identification =
Baroque”
which, respectively, mean
“IF first approach to identification = Ba-
roque
and
AND second approach to identification =
Baroque
“IF Classic structure = yes AND none of
the three styles composition = yes THEN
third approach to identification = none”.
AND third approach to identification =
Baroque
THEN final identification = Baroque”
