Safety in the Outdoors
Tramping mishaps are a frequent occurrence in the New Zealand wilderness.
The majority are caused by underestimating track and weather conditions,
compounded by bad preparation. Venturing into the back country should not
be taken lightly. It is extremely important to understand the risks involved,
and to be prepared for them.
