Arthur's Pass

As small as this hamlet is, Arthur's Pass still serves as the main centre for the national park
and surrounding area. After a major tramp it's worth scheduling some extra days at this
scenic mountain village to enjoy the numerous day walks that climb above the bushline.
4 Sleeping & Eating
Camping in the township is available at the basic Arthur's Pass public shelter ($6) , oppos-
ite the DOC centre ( Click here ) , where there's running water, a sink, tables and toilets.
There's more basic camping close to the start of the Goat Pass Track, 8km east of Arthur's
Pass at Klondyke Corner Campsite (free) .
