This caravan ain't rollin' anywhere fast, thank goodness. Serves superlative burgers, such as
the Cowpat (beef), the Ewe Beaut (lamb) and the Sparrow's Fart breakfast burger. Fish and
chips, and coffee, too.

Despite the distractions of semi-transient yoga-pant-wearing alternative types, good old
Takaka gets on with the real business of servicing its rural community and visitors, most of
whom are outdoor enthusiasts like you. Although the nearest town to the start of the Heaphy
Track (Brown Hut) is actually Collingwood, regular transport services and a much wider
range of supplies mean that Takaka is a preferable option.
