This small settlement is on the intersection of SH4 and SH47, 15km from Whakapapa Vil-
lage. National Park services trampers in the summer and skiers in the winter. There is no
visitor information centre here, but the website of the National Park Village Business Asso-
ciation ( www.nationalpark.co.nz ) is very useful.

lage, this basic DOC campsite has cold water and pit toilets.

The Station

your blessings ye who find this little railway station along the line. It's a lovely old dear,
carefully restored and now serving eggy brunch, pies, coffee and cakes, plus an impressive à
