Getting Around
The DR's relatively small size means even the most distant destination is usually no farther than a half-day's
drive away.
Car
Most convenient option if seeking freedom of movement, especially if interested in exploring rural and
mountain regions.
Bus
Two major companies, Caribe Tours and Metro, provide comfortable, frequent service between major
cities and towns.
Guaguas
Small buses or minivans, least expensive and least comfortable, however often the only available
public transport.
Air
Most expensive option and sometimes unreliable depending on time of year.
