This space across from the
Esso gas station at the northern part of town includes a cafe serving simple sandwiches
and excellent espresso and a slightly more upscale restaurant and bar. The latter, decorated
with colorful artwork, has a varied menu with fish and pasta dishes and recommended
cazuela de mariscos
(soupy stew made with a variety of seafood; RD$400).
Owned by the folks at Rancho Baiguate who have attached a little kiosk (8am to 8pm)
where you can go for tourist related information.

This long-
running restaurant is built directly around a tree and miniature children's playground over-
looking Parque Central. The large menu includes Dominican specialties such as
conejo
criollo
(rabbit prepared Creole-style, RD$440) and the
cabrito al vino
(goat in wine sauce,
RD$380) as well as international favorites.

The straightfor-
ward name isn't entirely accurate: excellent pepperoni pizzas are on the menu, along with
more than a dozen other varieties, but so are calzones, burgers, pasta, grilled meat and fish
dishes. It has a modern outdoor dining area with TVs tuned to sports. Delivers.

The fact that the top floor of this sophisticated mountaintop restaurant rotates
360 degrees (weekends only) is almost besides the point. Sweeping, practically aerial
views of the entirety of the Jarabacoa countryside are available anytime from the balcony
seating. Lunchtime has a family atmosphere but there's a distinctly romantic candlelit vibe
on weekend nights (reservations highly recommended), at least on the rotating top floor.
The menu includes ribeye steaks, chicken, salmon and a recommended, for meat lovers,
parrilla for two.
