hours) get on the Santo Domingo-bound bus.
EASTBOUND GUAGUA
These leave from a stop on the north side of Parque Central, passing by the entrance of
Playa Dorada and through Sosúa (RD$35, 30 minutes), Cabarete (RD$50, 45 minutes)
and Río San Juan (RD$100, two hours).

pital and Las Terrenas Transporte travels five times daily to Las Terrenas (RD$300, three

Santiago (RD$120, 1½ hours) with stops along the way at Imbert (RD$40, 20 minutes)
and Navarrete (RD$80, 50 minutes). To get to Monte Cristi, take Javilla's bus to Navar-
rete and tell the driver to let you off at the junction, where you can change for the Expreso
Linieros bus (RD$140, 1½ hours).

Getting Around
The old town and parts of the Malecón are walkable. Otherwise, you'll need to get com-
fortable taking
motoconchos
(motorcycle taxis), rent a car or shell out cash for taxis.
