head to Samaná (RD$100, one hour, every 15 minutes from 6:30am to 5:45pm)
from the beach end of Calle Principal, and also pick up passengers as they cruise slowly
out of town. There are also three daily buses to Santo Domingo (RD$350, three hours,
5:30am, 1:15pm & 3:15pm).
You can walk pretty much everywhere in Las Galeras.

able at a stand just in front of the main town beach. Sample one-way fares include: Aerop-
uerto Catey (RD$3000); Las Terrenas (RD$2500); Samaná (RD$1000); and Santo
Domingo (RD$7000). You may be able to negotiate cheaper fares, especially to Samaná.
Renting a car is an excellent way to explore the peninsula on your own. Prices are gen-
erally around RD$3000 per day with insurance.
