In-Depth Information
(Plaza Lusitania, Calle Principal; pasta RD$180-520, pizza RD$200-520; 3-11pm Dec-Apr, 5-10pm

This long-time staple serves a varied menu of Italian dishes, including
homemade pasta (tagliatelle with gorgonzola or fresh tomatoes), large thin-crust individu-
al pizzas, meat and fish dishes, followed by an extensive list of Italian and American
desserts and artisanal ice cream (coconut gets a round of applause).
Despite the fact that the decor consists of little more than lawn chairs, it's still one of
the town's most popular options.
Drinking & Nightlife
Much of the nightlife involves drinks at one of the restaurants in town - the bar at Le
Taínos is the best for cocktails. Further up the road is
L'Aventura
(Calle Principal)
, which also
has a healthy bar scene.
Information
The paved road coming from Samaná winds along the coast and through lovely, often-for-
ested countryside before reaching the outskirts of Las Galeras. There's one main intersec-
tion in town (about 50m before the highway dead-ends at the beach) and most hotels, res-
taurants and services are within walking distance from there.
