Virtually every water activity is available but some involve a long commute to the actual
site. Every hotel has a tour desk offering snorkeling, diving and boat trips to destinations
such as Isla Saona ( Click here ) . Parasailing is done from the beach all over Punta Cana
and Bávaro.

the Marinarium, a natural offshore pool near Cabeza de Toro, which is arguably more eco-
friendly than other excursions. Rays, nurse sharks, tropical fish and patches of coral are all
on hand.

2pm; ) Offers a 3½-hour snorkeling tour combined with power snorkeling (using a mo-
torized propellent) and hooka diving, where you are attached to a leash-like breathing ap-
paratus that allows you to reach depths of up to 4m. It's a great family option, though
everyone digs it. Fruit and an open bar (after diving!) are bonuses.

La Cana Golf Course

Punta Cana's top golf course is located at the area's top resort. The 18-hole course, de-
signed by Pete Dye, has several long par fives and stunning ocean views. Green fees are
US$135/175 (including cart) for guests/nonguests for 18 holes or US$80 (guests only) for
nine. Club rental is US$50 for 18 holes or US$25 for nine. Tee times may be booked on-
line. Also part of the Punta Cana Resort is the Tom Fazio-designed Corales Golf Course , ex-
clusive to Puntacana homeowners and Tortuga Bay guests; and Hacienda , also designed by
Pete Dye.
Cap Cana
( 809-469-7767; www.capcana.com ; Punta Cana) Near La Cana is the site of a huge develop-
ment project in the works, which has one Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course already
