ant in Bayahibe, a breezy, 2nd-story patio affair overlooking beautiful views day and night
of the turquoise sea. Lanterns and tablecloths add a romantic ambiance and the food is
equally impressive, offering excellent homemade pastas, pages of salads, scrumptious fish
dishes and melt-in-your-mouth risottos, among others. There is a small but trendy lounge
on the ground floor.

bad idea to recommend a place that does pizza and sushi, but Chikyblu pulls it off. It's
equally popular for thin-crust pies (RD$150 to RD$400) as its creative sushi rolls
(RD$270 to RD$285). Give the Caribe Roll a try: shrimp tempura, jalapeƱo and avocado,
reminiscent of some of Los Angeles' best sushi creations. If you're a connoisseur, it might
not cut it, but considering your environs, it shouldn't make you angry. It's as cute as can
be, too, decked out in knickknacks, and is right next to the sea.

see what everyone else wasn't serving, then put it on their menu: bagels, French toast,
poutine , excellent fries, fried chicken burgers - you can even try lionfish. It's also wildly
popular for burgers and beers.
Unfortunately on our visit, the owners were vacationing and service was slower than
the light breeze and our cheeseburger tasted distinctly like overcooked McDonald's. Still,
local North Americans and Europeans swear by it.
