3. Pond area-fish yield in the past decade
The contribution of the aquaculture sector is still the highest (from 38 to 49%) in terms of the
volume of production in the last decade ( Figure 6 ). Almost fifty percent of the total fisheries
production in 2010 comes from this sector. Brackish-water pond aquaculture is still the
subsector with the highest percentage of production in terms of volume ( Figure 7 ). However
