PLAZA DE MAYO
Plaza de Mayo is the political, social and symbolic center of Buenos Aires. Surroun-
ded by the Casa Rosada, the Cabildo and the city's main cathedral, this plaza is
ground zero for the city's political rallies and protests - both peaceful and vehement.
When the plaza isn't full of activists, however, it attracts camera-toting tourists enjoy-
ing the sights - along with the occasional camera thief.
