This aptly named hotel is indeed comfortable,
with 18 cosy rooms, all decorated in a simple style with indifferent and rather cheap
furniture. The location is excellent, however, midway between St Isaac's Cathedral
and Nevsky pr.

In the same building as the Comfort Hotel, this is a slightly larger
place of similar standards. Its furniture is similarly tasteless, especially in the 'im-
proved' rooms where they've tried to be trendy. You're paying for location here
though, and it's got an excellent one.

The ideal location of this discreetly marked hostel - just under
the archway from Dvortsovaya pl - is almost too good to be true. An impressive stair-
well leads to the friendly if rather cramped 1st-floor hostel, which offers one 10-bed
dorm as well as a private double room. All of the rooms have high ceilings, Ikea-style
furniture and plenty of natural light, creating a pleasant enough atmosphere. Other fa-
cilities include lockers, kitchen, laundry and - should you feel a tune coming on - a
piano. Note that check-in is only between 9am and 2pm, and 5pm and 9pm.

The rooms here may be Soviet style and
charmless, but the location is fantastic and you won't find any cheaper en suite rooms
in such a central location. No English is spoken, though the staff here do their best
and can be quite charming once you've broken the ice.
