search, so it's bound to be looking fabulous in the near future. Rococo on the inside
and baroque on the outside, the private retreat features painted ceilings and fine
inlaid-wood floors and walls.
In the meadows between the Palace of Peter III and the Chinese Palace is a small
Deer Park
, where you can see deer being reared for eventual release into the
grounds.
EATING
With kilometres of quiet paths through pine woods and sombre gardens, Oranienbaum
is a lovely place for a picnic. Otherwise, the one nearby eating option faces the main
entrance to the palace on the main road.
