Top Tip
Unlike all the other tsarist palaces around St Petersburg, Gatchina's park is public, so
it can be far more crowded than, for example, Pavlovsk or Oranienbaum. Avoid the
weekends if you'd prefer to enjoy the grounds without crowds of picnicking Russians.
Getting There & Away
Bus
From Moskovskaya metro station, bus 100 (R70, one hour) runs regularly. Buses
wait on ul Altayskaya and stop just short of Gatchina Park. Tell the driver you want to
go to the palace -

K18 and 431 (R50) also run this route from outside
Moskovskaya metro station and stop right by the park.
Train
There are trains to Gatchina Baltiysky (R86, one hour) from the Baltic Station
(Baltiysky vokzal) every one to two hours. The train station is directly in front of the
palace.
