Ligovsky Prospekt

In the past few years this rather shabby and run-down central St Petersburg street has

become the centre of the city's artistic and cultural underbelly and is full of bars,

clubs and galleries.

Trinity Cathedral

Fully restored after a terrible fire destroyed its huge main dome, this historic cathedral

Cosmonaut

Housed in a converted Soviet cinema, this excellent new music venue has hosted

some interesting live shows and arts festivals and is setting a new standard for local

Galeria & Nevsky Centre

Not to be eclipsed by consumerist Moscow, two enormous shopping centres have re-

cently opened either side of Pl Vosstaniya. Galeria ( CLICK HERE ) has a huge num-

ber of stores, while the smaller Nevksy Centre ( CLICK HERE ) has the best super-

market in the city.
