Nestled in a tiny basement and blasted with loud music is this Mex-
ican restaurant, a good place for burritos, quesadillas, fajitas and other filling Tex-
Mex dishes. There's a good-value daily business lunch for R145, and while it's far
from authentic, it's a pretty good attempt by local standards.

This much-feted, eclectic
and original restaurant, housed in the House of Composers and next door to the child-
hood home of Vladimir Nabokov, has got it all just right. The venue itself is a lot of
fun to nose around, with multiple small rooms, nooks and crannies, and full of unex-
pected props from table football to a child's play room. Service is friendly and fast
(when it's not too busy) and the peppy, inventive menu has something for everyone -
there's a heavy Italian presence, but dishes come from all over the world and there's
plenty of vegetarian choice. Reservations are usually essential, so call ahead.
