Griboyedov is hands-down the longest-standing and
most respected music club in the city. Another club in a bomb shelter, this one was
founded by local ska collective Dva Samolyota. It's a low-key bar in the early even-
ing, gradually morphing into a dance club later in the night. Excellent music acts and
international DJs play electronic, rock and dubstep. Upstairs, the plush Griboedov
Hill restaurant and chill-out lounge also has occasional concerts by night and is a
great place to relax.

Another weekend desti- nation in the Ligovsky pr 50 ware-
house complex is this cool place, popular with younger clubbers and packing in the
crowds at weekends to dance to techno, dubstep and other electronic styles. Most acts
are local, but they occasionally get international DJs here. Walk straight down from
the arch, and then turn right when you get to the open area.

In the courtyard of the building, this chic gay-mixed club is in the
basement and features a large dance floor, several bars, lots of loungelike seating and
a stage where drag acts and local groups perform. In summer there's a great outdoor
bar in the courtyard too. It's aimed at a wealthier, fashion-conscious crowd and is def-
initely at the more sophisticated end of gay clubbing.
