In-Depth Information
These squiggly striations near Moosonee in northern Ontario are streams and
small rivers feeding into the Moose River, which in turns empties into James Bay,
the huge, southern end of Hudson Bay, which connects to the Arctic Ocean. It's
cold but humans have been living here almost since the last glacier retreated,
about 8,000 years ago. Today, Moosonee is where the railroad ends and goods are
moved onto ships and planes for transport to the Far North, a land of no roads and
no trees, but lots of water, ice and snow.
