Special Cases
The special cases to be discussed now may be treated individually or be part of the
general acceptance procedures within a project where they play an important role.
For these reasons some redundancies with passages from sections already presented
may appear in the following.
7.1 Acceptance of Interfaces
7.1.1 Special Case Interfaces
Acceptance of interfaces may deviate somewhat with respect to the acceptance
procedures already discussed because they may demand higher attention. The main
reasons for this are:
￿ Participation of business units already during the development phase and/or
￿ The provisioning of special data.
7.1.2 Completeness of the Test Environment
Acceptance of interfaces either outside or in connection with the delivery of a new
release presents a particular challenge to acceptance procedures for the following
reasons:
￿ Preparation of interface files in the correct format for export or import with a
sufficient number of data records to permit bulk tests,
￿ Availability of test environments of partner systems,
￿ Link up to partner systems,
