lis and Bab el-Amud to Arabs.

maps, where there is a sufficiently
well-recognized English name, we
have used it; otherwise, we have
used the Arabic names for predom-
inantly Arab areas (for example, the
Muslim Quarter of the Old City) and
Hebrew names for Jewish areas.

those you see on street signs.
