In-Depth Information
The Tilt setting gives us the perfect opportunity to introduce a rather interesting
camera technique: the Dutch tilt . What is the Dutch tilt? Have a look at the
following screenshot:
A Dutch tilt is a camera shot in which the camera angle is tilted off to one side so that
the shot is composed with vertical lines at an angle to the side of the frame, giving a
dramatic effect. This also has the effect of putting the viewer off balance by creating
a feeling of disorientation, and your movie will hardly go unnoticed if you use a
Dutch tilt, but when using a slight tilt, this can be enough to give a different artistic
perspective in contrast to the straight shots. Using the camera's slight tilt also allows
you to show more of the subject in the frame, and this proves to be useful when we
have buildings with different heights that need to be placed on the same frame.
These features can help us to improve the clip's quality substantially, and
consequently, the movie is created. Let's have a closer look at some visual
effects that can be used for very specific situations.
Visual effects - Rain, Snow, and much
more
In most situations, the effects mentioned in the topic might seem inadequate, but
we have to keep in mind that every project is different, and even the most initially
unsuitable effect can later become very useful. Even if you are not planning to use
these effects in your current project, it is always good to have in mind where they
are and what can be accomplished with them.
