In-Depth Information
If something goes wrong because the 3D model suddenly changes the
rotation, ignore it.
3.
Click on the End position button and with the Move tool, drag the 3D model
to the final location.
4.
Click on the Start position and End position buttons to check whether the
keyframes were set correctly. Then, we can continue animating other settings
such as the rotation and many more.
5.
Click on the Back button to save this animation.
When animating people walking, you need to be sure that the path you trace is big
enough for the clip you create. In other words, if you have a clip of 10 seconds but
the walking path is small, the person will be walking back and forward in a loop.
With transports, it is a different situation, because in this instance, if you have a
10-second clip with an animated car, the car will take seconds to cover the path,
even if it is just a few centimeters long.
This means we need to plan ahead what elements will appear in a frame and for
how long, and this also proves the importance of using several clips instead of one
massive clip. Also, can you think of other practical applications? All the small
things together create an impressive movie, and with this effect, we can really
animate small things. What about animating the rotation of a door to open when
the camera is passing? What if we animate water coming from a fountain by
animating the scale of the water sprinkle? These are small touches that, when
combined, can create a beautiful movie, making it stand out from the crowd.
However, don't you feel that this effect, although great, doesn't provide the
freedom we need to create more complex animations? That is why Lumion has
the Advanced move effect, which has a more complex animation system.
Animating curved paths with the Advanced move
effect
Although we have mentioned that this effect is more complex and allows more
intricate animations, don't feel overwhelmed by this effect. In reality this effect gives
us the opportunity to add more keyframes, thus allowing a more complex animation.
