In-Depth Information
It is true that Lumion does a good job, but creating an architectural visualization is
not only about applying a pretty effect to the scene. One benefit of using the Sketch
effect with the Watercolor and Painting is the opportunity to enhance the quality of
the shadows, which in turn gives more contrast and depth to the image. Another
benefit is an option to boost the colors in the image. However, this doesn't mean we
are stuck with the Sketch effect, because we can always try other effects. So, how can
we combine them?
Although we will use Photoshop to combine these effects, the same principles
can be applied with other applications. The first step we need to take is to open the
following images:
Painting render
Sketch colored render
Sketch outline render
We need to stack them so that the painting render is the bottom layer, the second
layer is the sketch colored render, and the final layer is the sketch outline render, as
shown in the following screenshot:
However, if we do this, the result will be an image with the sketch outline on top,
and this is not an improvement. Let's start by switching off the Sketch outline layer
and focusing our attention on the Sketch color layer. With this layer, we can give
a boost to the color by setting the blend mode to Color . Setting the blend mode to
Color doesn't mean that it is the only possibility because in fact, Soft Light also
produces a good result; so, always try the other blending modes.
