Summary
3D models are an essential aspect of the scene we are producing. In this chapter,
you learned what we can find in each category, those related to 3D models and the
difference between the idle and animated 3D models. Then, you saw not only how to
place 3D models, but also some techniques to place several copies, add randomness
to them using the Ctrl + Z + left mouse button combination and copy 3D models
using shortcuts. Plus, you learned that using the F12 key can increase the speed
when working with the different 3D models present in the project.
Another essential aspect you learned was the use of the Context menu, not only
to select 3D models using different parameters, but also using the Transformation
submenu to easily add life to your project. The final section covered the special touches
you can give to the scene by using the grass and scattering different elements.
The next chapter is the final step before we start adding special effects. We will
learn the basis to create different times of the day that can have a deep impact in
the mood achieved in the project. And we will explore a not-so-well known area
in Lumion—using spotlights, omni light, and fill lights to light interior scenes with
a little bit of help from the Global illumination system.
