In-Depth Information
Then, in Lumion, we will have to assign the Waterfall material to the geometry, and
the initial result is not great because the water will be running really fast. When
assigning this material, we can easily see how the settings are the same as those
found in the Water material. And to reduce the water velocity, we have to tweak the
Tiling setting, as shown in the following screenshot:
However, we have to keep in mind that this is very limited and if we have a camera
close to the water it may not look great, but it will do the trick from a certain
distance. And of course, we can use this material for waterfalls, if by any chance
we have one.
Advantages of using Lumion's materials
By now we have a strong understanding of how we can assign and tweak Lumion's
materials, and the benefits of using these materials are quite clear. They are prepared
and optimized to produce the best results possible, giving us the opportunity to
focus our time on creating more detailed 3D models or increasing the quality of the
project with small details and effects.
Certainly, you are aware that it is possible to use the materials imported along
with the 3D model, and the next section is going to help us see how we can use the
materials that were created in the 3D modeling package.
