Another possibility is to assign this material temporarily to an exterior or interior
wall in order to have a better view and tweak interior objects. However, with
experience, you will eventually find other useful and practical applications.
Although this material didn't bring something special to improve the quality of our
project, the next two materials definitely will.
Creating swimming pools and other water surfaces
Every time we see a good 3D render of a house, most of the time, there is a common
element in all of them. Swimming pools delight everyone no matter where they
come from. Creating swimming pools in Lumion is so easy, but at the same time so
powerful that you will wonder how this is even possible.
Using the fantastic Water material
The project we will use to show some of the examples have a big swimming pool
where we can use the
Water
material. To apply this material, we need to add a plane
beforehand, not on the top of the swimming pool, but a few centimeters below to
reproduce the water line, and as shown in the following screenshot, the result is
really good even with the default settings:
There are few settings we can tweak to improve the look of the water and make
it even more believable. By the way, a swimming pool looks superb with the
Tiles_027_1024
material and you can find this material under the
Tiles
library.
