Photo Editing
Most Android owners will be interested in photo editing for fun, such as adding special ef-
fects, rather than pro-level editing, because of the limitations of the cameras. But there are
editing apps available to suit almost any level of photo editing.
Snapseed
A free app, Snapseed (

) is an easy to use yet powerful photo editor
with a beautiful interface. After you take a new photo or open an existing one, a scrolling
series of large tool icons appear along the bottom of the screen. The first time you select a
tool, a help overlay shows you how to use the tool. Later, if you forget how to use a partic-
ular tool, you can bring up the help overlay by tapping the question mark icon at the upper
right corner.
Despite the simple interface, Snapseed offers a wide range of tools, including auto correct,
selective adjust, tune image for brightness, ambiance, contrast, saturation, and white bal-
ance, straighten and rotate, crop, details (sharpening), black and white conversion, vintage
film effects, center focus, tilt-shift, retro effects, and frames.
