To locate your device, go to www.google.com/android/devicemanager . The location of
your device will be shown on Google Maps, along with the accuracy of the location and
date it was registered.
If you mislaid your device in your home or office, you can ring it to help you find it. Just
click Ring on the Android Device Manager page. The device will ring for five minutes or
until you press the power button.
You can optionally allow Android Device Manager to lock or erase your device remotely.
To do this, activate Android Device Manager under Settings, Personal, Security, Device
Administrators, Android Device Manager.
AirDroid
AirDroid is an example of an app that can act as a device administrator if you activate it.
AirDroid is an app that lets you wirelessly transfer files and administer your device from a
web page on your computer. For details, see Airdroid .
Unknown Sources
Checking this option allows you to install apps from sources other than Google Play. An
example is installing the Adobe Flash app to enable web browsers such as Dolphin to play
Flash Video. See Flash Video .
Normally, you should leave Unknown Sources unchecked.
Verify Apps
Normally, the Android operating system scans new apps and warns you if they might harm
the device. You should leave this checked.
Credential Storage
These options are mainly used in a large organization using systems such as Virtual Private
Networks. Your network administrator normally provides credentials if they are needed on
your device.
