In-Depth Information
Navigation options in Google maps include driving, public transit, walking, and cycling,
selected by tapping the icons at the top of the screen
When you tap Start, your device starts voice-prompted turn-by-turn navigation to your des-
tination. The device uses the GPS satellites to track your location so the tablet must have
a clear view of the sky. Usually, a front seat passenger holding the device in front of them
gives the GPS receiver a good enough view of the sky. If you plan to use your phone or tab-
let extensively for vehicle navigation, you might want to install a vehicle mount and power
cord. See the chapter Finding Accessories .
You can stop navigation by tapping the X at the lower left corner of the screen. That takes
you back to map view.
