Local forecast in Weatherbug
Wunderground
Wunderground.com
(Weather Underground) is famous for its Wundermap which can dis-
play different weather layers for the entire planet except for the polar regions. The map
defaults to your current location, and you can save as many locations as you want. Tapping
the current location bar at the top of the map shows you current, forecast, and hourly weath-
er for that location.
Map overlays include radar, satellite, wildfire risk and activity, hurricane activity, severe
weather, fronts, and web cams. The map background can be set to show radar, weather sta-
tion temperature, precipitation, or wind, and regional temperature tints. When weather sta-
tions are shown, you can tap on any station for the current, forecast, and hourly weather.
Wunderground's app (

has a widget which can be placed on your
home screen to show current weather and the forecast and give direct access to the Wun-
dermap.
Since it's the original weather site on the web it's not surprising that the Wunderground app
has so much power.
